Level 1 Form for beginners and experienced Tai Chi players with a focus on Fall prevention, slow & continuous movement, joint stability, and balance. Excellent for people noticing changes with their balance and walking. All levels welcome.

Yoga for ALL abilities, seated in a chair, with chair as a prop, including all of the benefits of yoga; tension reduction, joint mobility, strengthening, balance, mindful movement, breath awareness and relaxation.

Caregiving and Stress Management

You don’t have to look far these days to find supporting scientific evidence about the health benefits of yoga and meditation practices. These ancient practices dating back thousands of years continue to demonstrate their health promoting benefits in our modern-day lives.

Specific styles of yoga and mindful movement practices can help to reduce physiological and mental stress by calming the nervous system. This makes it an ideal tool for some caregivers, who are experiencing persistently elevated levels of stress due to the challenges of being a care partner. Yoga practices are modified for older adults experiencing changes with their memory or mobility.

Caregivers are at high risk for stress-related conditions such as high blood pressure, anxiety and depression. Specific styles of yoga can help to reduce stress and lower blood pressure through steady movement, breath practices, and restorative postures. As a certified Hatha Yoga and Tai Chi teacher, Tamasin can help assist caregivers and clients in ways to incorporate mindfulness, meditation, and yoga practices that feel accessible in daily routines, and contribute to a greater overall sense of peace and wellbeing. Tamasin uses these adaptable practices as an optional tool in helping to manage the physical and mental stressors of every day life in a care partnership.
