Equipoise Occupational Therapy offers home-based occupational therapy services, specializing in aging in place, home safety, fall prevention, dementia care and integrative therapies for care-partners for stress management.

Owner and licensed Occupational Therapist, Tamasin Kekic, is passionate about providing occupational therapy services to older adults in their homes. She uses an Occupational Therapy (OT) model of practice that views the strengths and characteristics of a person, the features of the physical environment, and the caregivers' roles as interdependent. Within these relationships, OT treatment planning involves the balancing of these factors to establish greater ease in the care partnership, supporting healing and well-being, while maintaining the highest level of safe and independent living possible.

Equipoise Occupational Therapy grew from Tamasin’s experience delivering home-based OT services through Home Care agencies serving Southern Vermont and New Hampshire, and a desire to provide more focused time to individual and caregiver needs and concerns. Care coordination and communication within an individuals’ health care team is a top priority for Tamasin in delivering high quality and individualized care in an often fragmented health care system.

Tamasin has completed multiple certifications and trainings in Anxiety and Stress Management, Fall Prevention Programs, Cognitive Rehabilitation, Dementia Care, and Integrative Mind-Body Practices using evidence-based practices for their proven health benefits.

Tamasin is also certified in Skills2Care, a program developed at Thomas Jefferson University for Occupational Therapists to deliver to caregivers for people living with dementia. Skills2Care helps to support and train caregivers in managing daily routines, learning effective communication strategies, improve safety, and teach stress management strategies to help in handling unique and difficult behaviors associated with different types of dementia. Skills2Care can also include integrative mind-body wellness habits and practices to help manage the intense physical and psychological stressors of caring for a family member or loved one with dementia.
